Captain Francis Drake
Our captain Francis Drake is a successful privateer commissioned by the Queen. Born in year 1540, Drake has been a sailor since he was 23 years old. From 1570 to 1573, he has been in the West Indies plundering the treasures of our wicked enemies: The Spanish. Hooray! Recently, Queen Elizabeth has commissioned him to begin a voyage around the world. It is rumoured that he may receive a medal made of gold, with a diamond on it and a portrait of a ship made from ebony, an expensive tree. Moreover, it is rumoured he may also receive a jewel with the portrait of the queen on it.

Transportation
A fleet of six ships would lead the expedition. The ships would be the Pelican (later named the Golden Hind), Mary, Christopher, Benedict, Elizabeth and Marigold. Lots of rocking and splashing on
the ships, so don't bring anything valuable and carry everything in a stable box or bag

Spanish Gold!
From the year 1492, the discovery of America, Spain has sent goods from America back to Spain. From the 1560s, the Spanish has set out a series of convoys that sent silver and gold from South America to Europe. Most of the convoys will sail through the Caribbean ocean and our captain Francis Drake, who was once a privateer (pirate), will help us to take some of the Spanish Gold!

Voyage Reviews
What to expect
Quite a lot of water and not much land. We will find many tropical paradises and Spanish settlements. Fascinating native tribes and even more fascinating are their spices.

People who want to make a lot of money quickly and people who are waiting for the big adventure in their lives
Lots of Gold *****
I was one of the crew the first time Francis sailed and it was wonderful! As we sailed in the Caribbean, we found a French privateer who cooperated with us. We captured a ship with 20 tons of gold and silver. Luckily, I was given a handful of pieces of eight after the raid. Francis Drake is a wonderful captain who will always help his sailors.
Tropical Views ****
During the voyages, we landed in many tropical islands. On most of the tropical islands, it was a wonderful landing. The natives were friendly, the food was delicious and we always manage to find some spices. Overall, it was a relaxing and exciting journey.
Backbreaking work **
The Captain was harsh on us! For the whole day, we had to work like a dog. At 7 o' clock in the morning, we have to start scrubbing the decks. Then, we have to clean the masts and check the cannons. We have to continue the work until 11 o'clock at night, when we have to sleep on the deck! It is even worse when there is a battle or an attack on another ship. Days would be wasted and backbreaking work to repair the ships and sometimes we don't even get our share from the capture!
My friend was killed! *
On June 20th, we landed on Puerto Rico. I thought it was just another landing on an island, but it was far more terrible. On July, 20, 1577, Francis Drake wrongly accused that my friend Thomas Doughty committed crimes of witchcraft, mutiny and treason. Although the honest crew refused to acknowledge that Thomas has committed treason, Francis still put him to death by beheading due to mutiny. I hate this captain: he is so full of himself and angry at everyone else!
